The number is usually expressed in E.164 format, starting with a plus sign, followed by the country code and the subscriber number. While some punctuation and spaces are tolerated in user-facing text, it is best to provide a clean, international format in the actual link to ensure compatibility across devices and apps.

On mobile devices, tapping a telefonnlänk opens the device’s dialer with the number pre-filled, allowing the user to start the call. On desktop or tablet, the system will delegate the action to an installed handler (such as a softphone or communication app) if one is available; otherwise the link may not be usable. The availability and behavior depend on the operating system, browser, and installed software.
