Tejashwi

Tejashwi Prasad Yadav is an Indian politician and a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He is the son of former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, and the younger brother of Tej Pratap Yadav. He has been active in Bihar politics since the 2010s and has been elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Raghopur constituency in Vaishali district.

From February 2015 to July 2017, Tejashwi served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar in the Mahagathbandhan government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He held multiple portfolios during this period as part of the coalition government. After the 2017 political realignment, he remained a leading figure in the RJD and the state’s opposition politics.

In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, Tejashwi led the RJD’s campaign and was elected again from Raghopur. He was designated as Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, a role that involves coordinating the activities of the opposition and presenting policy alternatives to the government. His public profile focuses on youth engagement, education, employment, and social justice within the framework of the RJD’s platform.

Tejashwi’s broader political stance centers on governance, accountability, and reform within Bihar’s political landscape. He remains a prominent figure in the RJD and in Bihar’s opposition space, contributing to the party’s national and state-level strategies.
