Tegelugn

Tegelugn is a fictional town and municipality in the northern part of the fictional country of Elaria. It lies along the Tegel River, set among rolling hills, farmland and mixed forests. The population is about 7,500.

The name Tegelugn is of uncertain origin; linguistic analyses cite Old Germanic and Old Norse elements, but no consensus exists.

The settlement is first mentioned in medieval records and gained municipal rights in the 19th century. The arrival of rail and roads in the late 19th century spurred growth, while postwar development broadened the economy.

Tegelugn sits on a gentle hillside near the river, with fields and woodlands. It has a temperate maritime climate, with cool winters and mild summers, and about 800 millimeters of precipitation annually.

As of 2023, around 7,500 residents lived there. The economy blends agriculture, light manufacturing and services, with agro-processing and rural tourism playing notable roles.

The town maintains a local dialect and hosts events such as the Tegelugn Autumn Market. Public services include a library, a primary and secondary school, a small health clinic, and regional rail plus bus connections.

Notable sites include the Old Tegelugn Mill, St. Martin’s Church and the Tegelugn Dam and reservoir.
