Sápmialueella
Sápmialueella is a term used to refer to the geographical area inhabited by the Sámi people. This region, often referred to as Sápmi, spans across the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. It is a vast and diverse territory characterized by subarctic and arctic landscapes, including tundra, forests, and mountains. The traditional Sámi way of life has historically been closely tied to the land, with reindeer herding being a significant cultural and economic activity for many Sámi communities. The Sámi people have their own distinct languages, culture, and traditions, which have evolved over centuries. The Sápmialueella is not a formally defined political entity but rather a cultural and historical homeland. The Sámi Parliament (Sámediggi/Sámedigge/Sämitigge/Саамское собрание) in each of the four countries serves as a representative body for the Sámi people, addressing issues related to their rights, culture, and language within their respective national contexts. Despite national borders, the Sámi people maintain a sense of shared identity and connection to the Sápmialueella.
