Szenzorhálózat

Szenzorhálózat, often translated as sensor network, refers to a distributed system of spatially dispersed and dedicated sensors that monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, pressure, motion, or pollutants. These sensors collaboratively collect data and communicate it to a central location for processing and analysis. A sensor network typically comprises nodes, each equipped with sensing capabilities, a processing unit, memory, and a communication module. These nodes are often deployed in large numbers, forming a decentralized and ad-hoc network where they can self-organize and self-heal.

The primary goal of a szenzorhálózat is to gather comprehensive and real-time information about an environment. This information can be used for a variety of applications, including environmental monitoring, industrial automation, military surveillance, healthcare, and smart cities. The data collected by the sensors can range from simple measurements to complex event detection.

Key characteristics of sensor networks include their low power consumption, as many nodes operate on batteries and need to conserve energy for extended periods. They are also designed to be robust and fault-tolerant, capable of operating in harsh or inaccessible environments. The distributed nature of sensor networks allows for scalability and flexibility, enabling the addition or removal of nodes without significantly disrupting the network's functionality. Communication within a sensor network can be wireless, employing various protocols like Zigbee, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth, depending on the application requirements and the density of the network.
