Syvävetokaivaminen, also known as deep drawing, is a metal forming process used to shape sheet metal into a hollow object. It involves drawing a metal blank into a die cavity using a punch. The process typically starts with a flat circular or rectangular piece of metal. This blank is then placed over a die. A punch, which is shaped like the desired final product, presses down on the blank, forcing it into the die cavity. As the punch moves downwards, the metal flows and stretches, conforming to the shape of the die.
