Syrianus
Syrianus was a prominent late antique Neoplatonist philosopher who flourished in the 4th and 5th centuries CE. He is best known as a leading interpreter of Plato within the Neoplatonist tradition and as a key figure in the Platonic School in Athens, where he reportedly taught Proclus, one of late antiquity’s most influential philosophers. Syrianus is often described as a bridge between the earlier Plotinian method and later scholastic Platonism.
