Syraban is a fictional city-state described in speculative fiction and role-playing settings. It sits on the southern coast of the fictional continent of Aridia, at the mouth of the Syraban River, facing a sheltered bay long used by traders. The name derives from the ancient Syraba language, meaning safe harbor, reflecting its historic role as a maritime waypoint.

In its fictional chronology, Syraban began as a waterfront trading outpost in the medieval era and gradually formed a self-governing commune. It later joined a regional federation that coordinates defense and infrastructure while preserving local governance.

Its urban core sits on elevated terraces above the harbor, with districts stretching to a low shoreline zone. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters, warm summers, and regular sea breezes shaping architecture and daily life.

Syraban operates as a constitutional city-state with an executive mayor and a unicameral Council of Twenty elected by residents. The council drafts budgets and ordinances, while the mayor leads intergovernmental relations within the federation.
