Sylvari

The Sylvari are a playable race in the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) Guild Wars 2. They are a race of sentient plant-folk created by the Pale Tree, a mystical, ancient tree that awoke from its slumber during a lunar eclipse. The Sylvari are born from its seeds, and upon awakening, each Sylvari experiences a shared dream, the Nightmare, which influences their individual personalities and paths.

Physically, Sylvari resemble humans but are composed of plant matter. Their skin can be bark-like, leafy, or even resemble petals, and their hair is often depicted as vines, leaves, or flowers. They exhibit a wide range of colors, from vibrant greens and blues to deep reds and purples, sometimes with bioluminescent patterns.

The Sylvari are characterized by their unique life cycle. They "awaken" as young adults and have a relatively short lifespan, though they are not immortal. Upon death, their bodies return to the earth, contributing to new life. They possess a deep connection to nature and are generally known for their curiosity, empathy, and strong sense of community.

Their society is divided into different "Orders," each with its own philosophy and role within Sylvari society. These include the Order of the Knights of the Sunspear, the Order of Whispers, and the Order of the Devotion. Despite their peaceful nature, the Sylvari are formidable warriors, dedicated to protecting the land of Tyria and combating the threats that endanger it. Their origins and connection to the Pale Tree are central to their lore and motivations.
