Syddansk

Syddansk, or the Region of Southern Denmark, is one of the five administrative regions of Denmark. It was established on 1 January 2007 as part of the nationwide Municipal Reform, which replaced the former counties with five regions. The region covers the southern part of the Jutland peninsula and the island of Funen, together with a number of smaller islands such as Ærø, Langeland and Als. Major urban centers include Odense on Funen, Esbjerg on the west coast of Jutland, and the towns of Kolding, Vejle and Sønderborg.
