Sukelluscomputer, also known as a dive computer, is an electronic device used by scuba divers to monitor and display essential dive information in real-time. Its primary function is to track the diver's depth, dive time, and ascent rate, crucial for ensuring safe decompression and preventing decompression sickness. Most dive computers employ algorithms based on the principle of dissolved nitrogen absorption and release in the body tissues.

These devices typically provide a variety of data points, including current depth, maximum depth reached during the dive, dive time remaining at current depth (no-decompression limit or NDL), and ascent rate warnings. Upon surfacing, the dive computer calculates the diver's surface interval and continues to track nitrogen levels, informing the diver about necessary safety stops if required on subsequent dives.
