SuiteFlow

SuiteFlow is NetSuite's built-in workflow automation tool, part of the SuiteCloud platform. It provides a graphical, no-code designer that enables users to model and automate business processes within NetSuite without writing code.

Workflows in SuiteFlow are composed of records, states, and transitions. They are triggered by record events such as creation or update, or by scheduled times. Each workflow can specify conditions and a sequence of actions to perform when those conditions are met.

Common actions include updating existing fields, creating new records, setting field values, sending email notifications, and creating tasks. For more advanced logic, SuiteFlow can integrate with SuiteScript or use scripted actions to extend functionality.

Design and deployment: Workflows are associated with specific NetSuite record types, such as customers, sales orders, or invoices. They can be tested in development environments, activated for production use, and paused or deactivated as needed. Access is governed by NetSuite permissions and roles.

History and scope: SuiteFlow was introduced as part of NetSuite's SuiteCloud Platform to enable business users to automate processes without coding. It remains a core automation feature and complements SuiteScript for more complex customization, continuing to be integrated with NetSuite's overall automation toolbox after Oracle's acquisition.
