Subspecialisten

Subspecialisten, or subspecialists, are physicians who have completed a broad specialty and then pursued additional fellowship training to focus on a narrow area within that field. After completing a general residency in disciplines such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, or radiology, many physicians seek fellowship training that lasts one to several years. This further training aims to develop expertise in a specific subspecialty, for example interventional cardiology, pediatric oncology, vascular neurology, or corneal transplantation. In some systems, subspecialists may also pursue additional certifications or credentials to acknowledge their focused expertise.

Subspecialists typically work in settings that require high-level, specialized care. They are commonly employed in tertiary
