Stratifgrafic is a term used to describe a graphical method for representing layered data in a way that emphasizes stratification. In practice, stratifgrafic involves creating visualizations that display the sequence and relationships of distinct units—such as sedimentary beds, archaeological layers, or other stratified deposits—using color-coded bands, horizons, and supporting metadata. The term is uncommon in formal geology, where "stratigraphic" is the standard adjective and noun; stratifgrafic is more often encountered as a variant, a brand name, or an informal descriptor in visualization work.

Concepts and elements: A typical stratifgrafic diagram includes a vertical axis representing depth or time, a set of horizontal strata arranged in order, and markers for boundaries between units (horizons). Units may be lithostratigraphic, biostratigraphic, or chrono-stratigraphic; color, pattern, and transparency convey lithology, age, and confidence. Cross-sections and 3D representations can extend the concept to multiple locations.

Applications: It is used in geology to illustrate sedimentary sequences and in archaeology to interpret site formation processes. In research and education, stratifgrafic-style visuals help communicate sequence, correlation, and chronology to non-specialists and students.
