Sthanakavasis
Sthanakavasis are a branch of Jainism that originated in the 15th century. The name Sthanakavasi translates to "dwelling in one place" or "those who reside in a place," distinguishing them from Digambara Jains who are ascetics that go unclothed and move from place to place. Sthanakavasis, in contrast, are lay ascetics who wear simple white robes and observe a non-violent lifestyle. They typically reside in monasteries or temples called Sthanakas.
