Stereovõimenditel, commonly referred to as stereo amplifiers, are electronic devices designed to amplify audio signals for reproduction through two separate speaker channels, left and right. This stereo configuration creates a sense of spatial realism, allowing listeners to perceive the directionality and placement of sounds as intended by the recording. The primary function of a stereo amplifier is to take a low-level audio input signal, such as that from a preamplifier, CD player, or digital audio player, and increase its power to a level sufficient to drive loudspeakers.

A typical stereo amplifier consists of several key components. A preamplifier section is often included, responsible for selecting input sources, controlling volume, and sometimes performing tone adjustments (bass, treble). The power amplifier section then takes the preamplified signal and boosts its current and voltage. Power is delivered to the speakers via output terminals. Many modern stereo amplifiers also integrate digital-to-analog converters (DACs) to directly process digital audio sources, as well as connectivity options like Bluetooth for wireless streaming.

The performance of a stereo amplifier is characterized by several specifications, including power output (measured in watts per channel), frequency response, total harmonic distortion (THD), and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). These factors influence the clarity, fidelity, and overall listening experience. Stereo amplifiers are fundamental components in home audio systems, home theaters, and professional audio setups where precise soundstage reproduction is desired.
