Statsskaping

Statsskaping, also known as state theft or state-sponsored theft, refers to the systematic misappropriation or expropriation of property, resources, or assets by a government or state officials. This practice often involves corruption, embezzlement, or illegal confiscation for personal or political gain, undermining legitimate economic activities and eroding public trust.

Historically, statsskaping has been associated with authoritarian regimes, where state officials exploit their power to enrich themselves or their allies. Examples include the illicit transfer of public funds, manipulation of state enterprises for personal benefit, and the unauthorized seizure of private property. Such actions can destabilize economies, discourage foreign investment, and exacerbate social inequality.
