Stabiliseringsopgaver are assignments used to study and practice stabilization concepts in dynamical systems. In Scandinavia, the term appears in physics, engineering, mathematics courses, and in computer science contexts where system behavior under disturbances must be controlled. The core objective is to understand what makes a system stable and how to design interventions that ensure stability.

The tasks typically cover fundamental stability concepts such as Lyapunov stability, asymptotic stability, and robustness. They often involve analysis of linear systems through eigenvalue placement and state feedback, as well as nonlinear methods such as Lyapunov functions. Students may examine both continuous- and discrete-time systems, use frequency-domain techniques like root locus or Bode plots, and study observer design and controller synthesis (for example PID, LQR). Numerical simulations play a large role, with projects implemented in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.

In practice, stabiliseringsopgaver may include designing a controller for a simple model (inverted pendulum, cart-pole, vehicle lateral dynamics), simulating response to disturbances, and verifying stability margins and performance criteria. Assessment combines theoretical proofs and interpretation of simulation results, sometimes complemented by experiments in lab settings.
