Specifian is a term used in speculative fiction and theoretical discussions to denote a hypothetical class of objects or systems whose properties are defined with absolute precision and remain invariant under typical experimental variations. The concept is often employed in thought experiments about measurement, calibration, and the limits of knowability.

The word is a neologism formed from the root specific and the suffix -an, suggesting an entity characterized by specificity. It does not refer to any real material or physical law; its usage is primarily illustrative.

In the standard imagined model, a Specifian possesses a fixed set of base properties, such as length, mass, or state, that do not vary with ambient conditions or perturbations. To quantify this, writers introduce a 'specifity index' that ranges from 0 to 1, with 1 meaning absolute invariance. Interactions with external variables are modeled as idealized constraints that preserve Specifian properties.
