It is often used in discussions about complex social, political, or personal issues where traditional solutions have proven ineffective.

The idea of solunsuuntaisuus (the state of being unsolvable) is rooted in the Finnish understanding of reality, where certain problems may be too deeply embedded in systemic or cultural structures to be addressed directly. This perspective is sometimes compared to the English concept of "wicked problems," which are difficult or impossible to solve for an indefinite period due to incomplete or contradictory knowledge.
