Snorunt

Snorunt is a small, Ice‑type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It has a spherical body formed from frozen snow with a white, horn‑like head and black eyes. It is often seen rolling through snowy slopes in the world of Pokémon. The creature is known for its calm demeanor and its ability to remain nearly invisible under fresh snowfall.

Snorunt is part of the Ice Knight lineage, sharing evolutionary ties with Glalie and Froslass. It evolves into Froslass when exposed to a Dawn Stone, while Glalie is obtained by leveling up Snorunt in cold climates or through the hidden ability Ice Face in later game iterations. In some regional variants, it can evolve into Glalie without stone assistance. Its evolution methods were expanded in later games to include a “weather‑based” evolution system where Snorunt may become Glalie if the player’s Pokémon has the Ice Face ability and the weather conditions are appropriate.

In competitive play, Snorunt operates as a support Pokémon. Its signature moves include Cry and Drill Peck, while its Fairy‑type move, Dazzling Gleam, helps it against other non‑Ice types. Its defensive typing and high Special Attack make it useful as a special attacker in specialized builds. Snorunt also has the ability Ice Body, which restores recovery in snow conditions and grants immunity to hail.

The Pokémon’s lore describes it as living in harsh, icy environments where it can sense movement beneath snow through its ears.
