Slitasjetester
Slitasjetester is a term used in tribology to describe wear-testing equipment and associated methodologies that evaluate the resistance of materials and coatings to wear under controlled sliding conditions. In practice, a slitasjetester involves a test specimen and a counterface that move relative to each other while load, speed, and environmental parameters are varied to simulate service conditions. The primary outputs are wear data, such as mass loss or volume loss, wear rate, and the coefficient of friction, often complemented by profilometry or microscopy to characterize wear scars.
Devices categorized as slitasjetester come in several geometries, including pin-on-disk, ball-on-flat, and reciprocating or block-on-ring configurations.
Applications of slitasjetester span automotive and aerospace components, industrial coatings and treatments, polymers, ceramics, and lubricant
