Skogsvårdslagen
Skogsvårdslagen is a Swedish statute governing forestry management with the aim of ensuring sustainable production and regeneration of forests. The act obliges forest owners to cultivate, replant or regenerate stands after harvesting, protect soil and water quality, and prevent damage from pests, disease, fire and other hazards. It also covers silvicultural practices such as thinning, tending young stands, and the timing and method of harvest to maintain forest value over time. Local authorities may require corrective actions if a forest is not being managed in accordance with the law.
