Skalhårdhet

Skalhårdhet is a term used in material science to describe the resistance of a material's surface to indentation. It is a measure of how well a surface can withstand localized deformation when subjected to a concentrated load. This property is distinct from bulk hardness, which refers to the material's overall resistance to deformation.

The concept of skalhårdhet is particularly important for materials that are subjected to wear, abrasion, or impact. A surface with high skalhårdhet is less likely to be scratched, dented, or eroded.
