Silkkiseulan
Silkkiseulan is a Finnish term that translates to "silk screen" or "screen printing." It refers to a printing technique where ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto a substrate, such as fabric, paper, or plastic. The mesh is stretched tautly over a frame, and areas of the mesh that are not intended to be printed are blocked out. This is typically achieved by coating the mesh with a blocking material, then exposing it to light through a film negative of the desired image. The exposed areas harden, while the unexposed areas remain soft and can be washed away, creating a stencil.
During the printing process, ink is placed on top of the screen, and a squeegee is used
Silkkiseulan is commonly employed in the textile industry for printing T-shirts, posters, and other apparel. It
