Siirdehindasid, also known as the "Siberian Screech Owl" or "Siberian Owl," is a medium-sized owl species native to the boreal forests of Siberia, Russia, and northern China. It is characterized by its distinctive white face and chest, which contrasts with its brown upper body and tail. The species is known for its loud, shrill calls, which are often described as a series of "screeches" or "screams," hence the name "Screech Owl."

Siirdehindasid is a nocturnal hunter, primarily feeding on small mammals such as voles, lemmings, and mice. It is also known to prey on birds, including other owls. The owl is a territorial species, and males often engage in vocal duets with females during the breeding season. The female lays a clutch of 4-6 eggs, which she incubates for about 30 days. The chicks are altricial, meaning they are born blind and helpless, and require several weeks to develop flight and hunting skills.

The siirdehindasid is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, as its population is believed to be stable. However, habitat loss due to deforestation and climate change may pose a threat to the species in the future. Conservation efforts are focused on protecting and restoring the owl's boreal forest habitat.
