Description and biology

Sidoskierot individuals are small, typically 6–12 millimeters in length, with a translucent exoskeleton and a pale blue-green glow emitted from light-producing organs along the abdomen. They move slowly along the edges of fallen logs, mossy surfaces, and damp leaf litter, often observed in loose colonies that number from a few dozen to several hundred. Their bioluminescence serves as a communication signal for cohesion within a group and can function as a deterrent to predators within the fictional ecosystem.

Ecology
