Shrikethrush

The shrikethrush is a group of birds belonging to the genus *Colluricincla*, part of the Australasian thrush family (Turdidae). These birds are native to Australia and New Guinea, where they inhabit a variety of forested and woodland habitats, including rainforests, eucalyptus woodlands, and scrublands. The genus contains eight recognized species, each adapted to specific ecological niches within their ranges.

Shrikethrushes are medium-sized birds, typically measuring between 17 and 23 centimeters in length, with a slender body and a long tail. Their plumage varies by species but often features a mix of olive-green, grey, and white tones, providing effective camouflage among foliage. Some species exhibit subtle sexual dimorphism, with males and females displaying slight differences in coloration or pattern.
