Shqyrtimit

Shqyrtimit is the act of examining, reviewing, or considering something in a careful and often formal manner. In Albanian, shqyrtimi (the form used with the genitive shqyrtimit) denotes a process of scrutiny, evaluation, or deliberation. The term is formed from the verb shqyrtoj, meaning to examine, scrutinize, or consider, with the noun-forming suffix -tim that marks a process or act.

The word is widely used in legal, administrative, and civil contexts, where it refers to the procedure of assessing applications, proposals, documents, or evidence before a decision is made. It can denote the thorough review of a file in public administration, the examination of arguments or proofs in a court, or the scrutiny of compliance with regulations. In academic and scientific usage, shqyrtimi can also mean a literature review or a synthesis of existing evidence, rather than a physical inspection.

Shqyrtimi connotes a deliberate, evaluative process rather than mere observation, and it often implies accountability or justification for the resulting decision. The term is closely related to, yet distinct from, related concepts such as vlerësim (assessment), inspektim (inspection), and rishikim (reconsideration or revision). A person who conducts such a process is an shqyrtues (examiner) and the act may be described as shqyrtimi i një kërkese, shqyrtimi i dokumenteve, or shqyrtimi i materialeve, depending on the context.
