Shpenzim

Shpenzim, in Albanian, refers to the act of spending resources, especially money, to obtain goods, services, or to cover costs. In everyday use it denotes expenses or outlays within a budget or financial statement.

In economics, shpenzimet are the outflows of resources incurred by households, firms, and governments to acquire goods and services. National accounts typically break expenditures into major categories such as household consumption, gross capital formation (investment), government consumption and investment, and net exports. In many systems, transfers to individuals or organizations are not counted as final expenditures in GDP.

Within personal finance, shpenzimet can be classified as fixed (e.g., rent, loan payments) or variable (e.g., groceries, utilities); essential (needs) or discretionary (wants). Effective management involves budgeting, monitoring, and forecasting shpenzimeve, and understanding their impact on cash flow and savings.

Relation to saving: shpenzim contrasts with kursim (saving). Balanced budgeting seeks an appropriate relation between shpenzimet and kursim, enabling financial stability and goal achievement.
