Shintoria

Shintoria is a fictional sovereign state in the fantasy world of Eldara, commonly depicted in speculative fiction and role-playing games. It is located along the western coast of the continent, bordered by the Silver Crags to the north and by the Verdan foothills to the east; the Oliar Plain lies to the south. The terrain combines coastal hills, temperate forests, and highland plateaus, and the climate is temperate with four distinct seasons.

History centers on an Iron Age settlement tradition that culminated in the Valemari dynasty’s unification in 1124 CE. A 14th-century reform reduced royal authority and established a constitutional framework. The 19th and 20th centuries brought modernization and integration into a regional trade bloc, shaping Shintoria’s current political and economic landscape.

Government is a constitutional monarchy with a bicameral legislature known as the Lumin Assembly. The monarch serves a largely ceremonial role, while executive power rests with the Prime Minister and cabinet. The constitution guarantees civil liberties, a mixed-market economy, and provincial autonomy.

Demographics place the population at about 5.8 million. The Shintori are the majority ethnic group, with Verdan and other minorities present. The official language is Shintori, supplemented by regional dialects; religion is diverse, with secular civic institutions playing a prominent role.

Economy is diversified, spanning manufacturing, agriculture, and services. Major exports include timber, textiles, and electronics components. The currency is the Shintor. Infrastructure emphasizes ports, rail connections, and digital services.

Cultural life features traditional crafts, festivals, and a robust educational system. Notable sites include the capital Lysandria, the major port Marek, and the mountain town of Durnfell.
