Sheetsand

Sheetsand is a term used to describe a family of laminated composite materials in which flat sheets are bonded to a sand-infused layer to create textured, durable surfaces. The concept combines the smooth geometry of sheet laminates with the granular abrasion resistance of sand, yielding a material that is both lightweight and wear resistant. The exact composition varies, but common configurations use thin sheets (such as metal, polymer, or fiber-reinforced substrates) paired with a sand-containing core or binder.

Properties of sheetsand materials depend on the binder and sand grade but typically include enhanced surface roughness, improved slip resistance, and good impact resistance.
