Seurant

In standard Finnish, the most common noun for this concept is seuranta; seurant occurs mainly as a stem in compound terms or in borrowed or technical language, and may appear in longer words such as seurantajärjestelmä (monitoring system) or seurantadata (monitoring data). The concept encompasses systematic data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting to support decision making, control, and forecasting.

Applications span several domains. In health care, patient monitoring and surveillance track vital signs, treatment responses, and adverse events. In environmental management, monitoring of air and water quality, biodiversity indicators, and climate parameters informs policy.
