Sertulias
Sertulias are a group of marine animals belonging to the phylum Ctenophora, which includes comb jellies and sea walnuts. They are characterized by their unique body structure, which consists of a central cylinder surrounded by eight rows of cilia, or tiny hair-like structures. These cilia are used for locomotion and feeding, as sertulias filter-feed by drawing water through their bodies and capturing small particles of food.
Sertulias are found in various marine environments, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, and open ocean areas.
The taxonomy of sertulias is complex, with over 100 species described to date. They are classified within
