A typical sectorrapportage covers multiple dimensions: market context and demand drivers; production levels, capacity utilization, and supply chain dynamics; employment trends, skills needs, and wage developments; competitiveness, innovation, and digitalisation; and sustainability, energy use, and regulatory compliance. It may also assess risks, such as macroeconomic volatility, regulatory changes, or supply disruptions, and outline policy implications or recommended actions.

Methodologically, sectorrapportages rely on a mix of official statistics, sector surveys, firm-level data, and expert analysis. Common data sources include national statistics offices, Eurostat or OECD databases, and sector associations. The reports may use scenario-based projections to illustrate potential developments under different assumptions and present a short- or long-term outlook.
