Scutosaurus
Scutosaurus is a genus of extinct pareiasaurian reptiles that lived during the Late Permian period, roughly 260–252 million years ago. The type species, Scutosaurus karpinskii, was described by Russian paleontologist Ivan Efremov in the mid-20th century from fossils recovered in what is now Russia. Scutosaurus is notable for its large, heavily built body and extensive dermal armor.
