Schiebeklappe

A Schiebeklappe is a movable closing or regulating element used in ducts, channels, or flues to control the flow of air or gases. It consists typically of a flat or slightly curved plate that slides parallel to the duct axis to open or close the passage, allowing selective isolation or regulation of flow.

In construction and engineering, Schiebeklappen function as dampers or shut-off devices within heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, exhaust ducts, and industrial process lines. They can be used to balance airflow, dampen noise, or provide a quick means of isolating a section for maintenance or fire protection.
