Schengenegyezmény

Schengenegyezmény, also known as Schengen Disaster, refers to the series of events that occurred in Hungary in 2015, when thousands of migrants and refugees attempted to enter the European Union through Hungary, which was a member of the Schengen Area. The Schengen Area is a zone in which a common travel area has been established that covers most of Europe, allowing free movement of people.

The crisis began in late August 2015, when Hungary and Austria closed their borders to migrants and refugees fleeing the conflicts in Syria and Iraq.
