The term combines "same" (as in "same team") and "hitting," implying that a player repeatedly kills or assists in killing opponents while their own teammates are also actively engaging the enemy. This behavior often occurs in chaotic or high-stress moments, such as during intense firefights or when multiple players are clustered together.

Samehitting is not inherently malicious but can be perceived as unsportsmanlike, especially if it involves excessive reliance on teammates' actions to secure kills. Some players view it as a natural part of team-based gameplay, where coordination leads to shared victories.
