Sagopalme
Sagopalme is a common name referring to plants in the genus Cycas, which are gymnosperms belonging to the family Cycadaceae. Despite the name, sagopalms are not true palms but are ancient seed-bearing plants that have a superficial resemblance to them. They are characterized by their sturdy, often subterranean trunks and a crown of large, pinnately compound leaves. These leaves are typically stiff, leathery, and glossy, emerging from the top of the trunk in a spiral pattern.
The plants are dioecious, meaning individual plants are either male or female. Reproduction occurs via seeds
Many species of Cycas are cultivated as ornamental plants for their distinctive appearance, especially in tropical
