SIMULIA

SIMULIA is a Dassault Systèmes brand for realistic simulation software, providing tools for engineering analysis across multiple physics, materials, and industrial applications. It is part of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and is designed to enable virtual testing and optimization of products and processes, from concept to production.

The flagship product line centers on Abaqus, a comprehensive finite element analysis (FEA) suite that supports nonlinear structural analysis, contact, dynamics, and multiphysics coupling. Abaqus is used for predictive simulation in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and consumer electronics.

Complementary SIMULIA products include Isight, a process automation and design exploration tool; Tosca, for topology optimization and reliability-based design optimization; and fe-safe, for fatigue and durability analysis.

History and development: SIMULIA originated as a Dassault Systèmes brand in 1993; in 2005 Dassault acquired the ABAQUS software, significantly expanding SIMULIA's capabilities. Over the years, SIMULIA has expanded its portfolio and integrated with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, enabling cross-domain simulation and collaboration.

In practice, SIMULIA tools are used for virtual validation, optimization, and reliability assessment to shorten development cycles, reduce physical prototypes, and improve product performance.

The software supports deployment through on-premises and cloud-based environments and integrates with other Dassault Systèmes brand tools for an end-to-end product lifecycle management.
