SCP50005

SCP50005 is an anomalous object discovered in a small, abandoned observatory in the Atacama Desert, Chile. The object is a perfectly spherical obsidian orb, approximately 30 centimeters in diameter. It is unnaturally cold to the touch, maintaining a temperature consistently several degrees below ambient. Despite its appearance, the orb is remarkably lightweight, weighing less than a kilogram.

When activated by exposure to direct starlight for a period exceeding one hour, SCP50005 projects holographic images onto any surface within a 50-meter radius. These projections depict astronomical phenomena, including nebulae, star clusters, and planetary systems. The accuracy and detail of these projections are remarkably high, often surpassing current human observational capabilities.

Further analysis has revealed that the projected images are not static representations but dynamic simulations of celestial events. Some simulations appear to depict events that have already occurred, while others show future astronomical occurrences with a high degree of probability. The source of this information is unknown, and the mechanism by which SCP50005 acquires and projects this data remains a mystery.

The Foundation has contained SCP50005 within a specialized containment chamber designed to mimic natural starlight conditions for study. Research is ongoing to understand the orb's origin, its data acquisition methods, and the potential implications of its predictive capabilities. Access to SCP50005 is restricted to Level 4 personnel and above, with strict protocols in place to prevent unauthorized activation or data exploitation.
