SCP049s refers to the plural of SCP-049, commonly known as the Plague Doctor, within SCP Foundation lore. The SCP049s share a consistent appearance and behavioral pattern: humanoid individuals cloaked in long, black robes, wearing a bird-like beaked mask. They speak fluent English with archaic phrasing and claim to be physicians from a past era who believe the world is afflicted by a concept they call the Pestilence.

The core anomalous properties involve perception and manipulation of disease and life processes. SCP-049s identify themselves as healers who diagnose a hidden condition they call the Pestilence. They can render a living subject insensate and dead, after which they perform a ritual that revives the corpse as SCP-049-2. These reanimated subjects usually exhibit rudimentary motor function and limited autonomy, remaining under the control or influence of the original SCP-049. The relationship between SCP-049 and SCP-049-2s is a defining feature of the class.
