Ruumikorrektsiooni is an Estonian term that translates to "space correction" or "room correction" in English. It refers to a process or technology used to optimize the acoustic properties of a room for a specific purpose, often in the context of audio reproduction or sound design. The primary goal of room correction is to minimize the negative effects of a room's acoustics on sound quality.

Rooms naturally possess acoustic characteristics such as reflections, reverberation, and standing waves, which can distort the intended sound. These distortions can lead to uneven frequency response, phase issues, and a loss of clarity and detail in the audio. Room correction techniques aim to identify and mitigate these problems.

There are several methods to achieve room correction. Active room correction typically involves digital signal processing (DSP) applied through specialized software or hardware. This process often involves measuring the room's acoustic response using a calibrated microphone and then applying filters to counteract the identified deficiencies.
