Runsaimpias

Runsaimpias is a fictional town and municipality in the imagined nation of Veridia, located in the Veridian highlands along the banks of the Nira River. It is commonly used in encyclopedic exercises to illustrate how small regional centers function within a broader national framework.

Runsaimpias developed as a riverside market town from the 17th century, with a municipal charter granted in the 1860s. The arrival of a regional railway in the early 20th century stimulated growth, and the town later expanded beyond the river valley to the surrounding villages. Today the town covers about 25 square kilometers and sits at an elevation of roughly 420 meters.

The climate is temperate, with warm summers and cool, wet winters. Annual precipitation averages between 700 and 900 millimeters. The surrounding landscape features mixed farmland, deciduous woodlands, and small hills.

As of the last census, Runsaimpias has a population of about 12,000 residents. The population is ethnically heterogeneous, with Veridian and Runsai-speaking communities accounting for the majority. The economy relies on agriculture, textiles, and local services, supplemented by light manufacturing and craft cooperatives.

Governing authority consists of a mayor and a nine-member town council elected for four-year terms. Notable sites include the Riverside Market, an old stone bridge, and a heritage mill. The town hosts an annual Riverside Festival that showcases music, food, and crafts. Education includes two primary schools, one secondary school, and a small technical college.
