Rozsdátlanítás refers to the process of removing rust from metal surfaces. Rust, a form of iron oxide, forms when iron or its alloys are exposed to moisture and oxygen. This process can weaken and damage metal objects, making rust removal essential for their preservation and functionality.

There are various methods for rozsdátlanítás, ranging from mechanical to chemical approaches. Mechanical methods involve physically abrading the rust away. Common techniques include sanding, wire brushing, grinding, and sandblasting. These methods are effective for removing thick layers of rust but can alter the surface finish of the metal.

Chemical methods utilize rust removers, which are typically acidic solutions designed to dissolve iron oxide. These solutions are applied to the rusted surface, and the rust reacts with the chemicals, loosening its bond with the base metal. After a suitable soaking period, the dissolved rust can be wiped or rinsed away.
