Beyond digestion, fiber can also contribute to feelings of fullness, which may aid in weight management. It can also help regulate blood sugar levels, which is particularly beneficial for individuals with diabetes.

Recommended daily fiber intake varies depending on age and gender, but generally falls between 25 and 30 grams for adults. Many Western diets are deficient in fiber, and increasing consumption is often advised. Sources rich in fiber include apples, berries, broccoli, beans, lentils, oats, and whole wheat bread. Integrating a variety of these foods into daily meals can help ensure sufficient fiber intake.
