Rollbehälter

Rollbehälter, or rolling containers, are portable, wheeled containers used to transport and store goods in intralogistics. They are designed for hand or mechanical handling and typically feature a base, surrounding sidewalls, and a rigid frame. They can be moved by personnel or by equipment such as a forklift or pallet jack, depending on size and configuration.

Materials and variants: Steel rollbehälter with solid panels or wire mesh provide durability, while plastic versions offer lighter weight and corrosion resistance. Many models have four wheels (two swivel, two fixed), a handle or push bar, and, in some cases, brakes. Some designs are nestable or foldable to save space when empty.

Sizes and capacity: Common external dimensions include about 800 × 1200 mm and 1000 × 1200 mm, with heights typically between 800 and 1100 mm. Load capacities commonly range from 300 to 1,000 kg, depending on construction and material.

Applications: Rollbehälter are used in warehouses, distribution centers, production lines, and retail logistics to move inventory, stage orders, or serve as reusable packaging. They support standardized handling and can reduce handling time and physical strain compared with loose goods.

Advantages and considerations: Reusable and durable, they enable efficient stacking or nesting in some models and are compatible with forklifts and conveyors. Limitations include higher unit weight, potential floor damage without proper use, and the need for regular maintenance of wheels and latches.
