Rodentisitlere is a recently described genus of small rodents that was first identified in the montane regions of Central Asia in 2023. The genus falls within the family Cricetidae and is characterized by a combination of morphological traits that differentiate it from closely related genera, such as a reduced rostrum, a distinctive dental formula, and a unique pelage pattern of mottled brown and grey coloration. Specimens have been collected from elevations ranging between 1,800 and 3,200 meters, where they inhabit rocky slopes and alpine meadows with sparse vegetation.
