Rhabdomys

Rhabdomys is a genus of rodents belonging to the family Muridae. These small to medium-sized rodents are found in various parts of southern and eastern Africa. The genus includes several species of small mammals that inhabit a range of environments, from grasslands to forests and rocky outcrops.

One of the most well-known species within the Rhabdomys genus is the southern short-tailed shrew mouse (Rhabdomys pumilio), which is widely distributed across sub-Saharan Africa.
